A note to all ARES Hospital Operators
From Brett Smith and Steve Jonas . . . March, 9, 2021
There have been several things that seem to be reoccurring with the Winlink ICS-213 reports for the hospital nets.
We are asking each hospital to create a Winlink account for their hospital using the hospital’s callsign and use only that account when reporting in. All operational hospitals in Region G should have its own callsign.
You can have multiple accounts in the same Winlink program, so if you aren’t using a hospital computer to send the Winlink, make sure that that computer has the hospital’s account/callsign in it.
We are asking each hospital to send only one (1) Winlink message ICS-213 for their hospital. Please include in the subject Line:
- NAME OF HOSPITAL
- The CALL SIGN IF IT HAS ONE
Please include the following in the message body:
- The CORRECT NAME OF EACH OPERATOR
- CORRECT CALL SIGN OF EACH OPERATOR
- IF EACH OPERATOR IS ARE ON SITE (O) OR REMOTE (R
- IF THERE ARE THERE ANY ISSUES PERTAINING TO THE OPERATION OF THE STATION
Send an ICS-213 for your hospital only. Each of the other hospitals in your region need to send their own ICS-213 for their own facility. The correct form to be used for the Winlink message is the ICS-213 txt. DO NOT USE THE HICS Forms.
All Winlink messages are to be sent to W4HBS@winlink.org, Bret’s Winlink address, and not Bret’s “regular” email address.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either Bret Smith or Steve Jonas.
Warmest regards,
Bret Smith, W4HBS
